Libra was tasked with analysing how to improve management of Edward Vinson’s labour for the fruit growing enterprise.
We created a proposal for a set of workshops to allow the leadership team to take ownership of the company’s continuous improvement.

The Challenge
- EV wanted to focus on improving management of labour throughout the fruit growing enterprise. They wanted workstreams and workshops defined to equip them with the skills needed to improve the labour efficiency now and into the future.
Solution
- After project kick off, we spent the first couple of days observing the picking operations on the various farms(Go, Look, See)
- We process-mapped the main picking procedure and then added any ideas for opportunities
- We then grouped the ideas into potential workstreams
- We took timings to enable us to quantify time, and thus labour cost, that could be saved by making some of the changes
- We identified LEAN processes that the leadership team would benefit from as well as the team leaders
- We presented our findings and suggestions for employee development workshops
